Milton Art Center 2026 Summer Art Camp
Empower your young artist this summer with arts programming starting June 23rd to August 28th. Each week has themed program choices of painting, sculpture, clay, world-building, mixed media, and more.
Our Mission
To encourage creative thinking, build confidence, and empower children to make their ideas visible through hands-on art-making.
Why Art Camp Matters
Art is a way children learn to understand and interact with the world. At camp, kids use their hands to turn their ideas into something real; drawing, building, painting, and making in ways that feel meaningful and personal. Art-making isn’t about following rules or copying a model. It’s about listening, trying things out, and using their own thinking to create something entirely new.
Drawing is part of daily life at camp, a way for children to look closely, practice, and think on paper. Each camper receives a journal to sketch ideas and explore possibilities. As they draw, experiment, and make, children build skills the way artists do: through use and practice. Ideas become visible, and confidence grows.
We also believe deeply in the importance of the natural world. Whenever possible, campers work outdoors, observing light, color, texture, and form firsthand, and using nature as both subject and inspiration. Being outside encourages curiosity, focus, and a deeper connection between seeing and creating.
Campers are surrounded by other kids who love to make things too, who enjoy imagining, noticing, and creating together. Teaching artists recognize the value of this kind of thinking and support children as they develop independence, focus, and creative courage.
This is a place for makers, for children who want to build ideas with their hands, explore materials, and discover what they’re capable of creating.
