First Friday: A Night of Songs by Bob Dylan
Join us on Friday, April 5th for a special First Friday event at the Milton Art Center! Our gallery will be transformed into a celebration of folk legend Bob Dylan, with local musicians and singers performing their renditions of his iconic songs.
Why Dylan Matters:
Bob Dylan is more than just a musician – he’s a cultural touchstone. His lyrics, filled with poetry, social commentary, and philosophical musings, have resonated with generations. From anthems of the Civil Rights movement like “I Shall Be Released” to timeless love songs like “Make You Feel My Love,” Dylan’s music continues to inspire and challenge us.
Franc Graham: ” I’ll be playing “Buckets of Rain” because I think it’s Bob’s best song. There, I said it! It’s also one of a few covers that I’ve played with my band, a good fit. Gonna bust out “Gotta Serve Somebody,” too, as an experiment, maybe as a group song with everyone that night. My take on it is not religious, more of a commitment to what and who is right–essential, especially in this divisive political time!”
The music starts @ 7:00
Franc Graham, Claudia Wellington, Steve Cousineau, Ben Zoll, Dennis O’Brien, Karl Pastore, Kevin Dambruch, Geof Shaw, Pat Nieves, Rob Siegal and more!
Stop by early and take in Mark Vonnegut’s Milton Scenes exhibit at the Milton Art Center.
